Hope its clear at 3am 17 nov.
the best time to see the Leonids
There was to much light pollution here to see the last meteors

I will be at the east end of scaddon near the high electric line towers, where they turn north

Stop by and say hi
  • Good call on the Leonids!! We are now hoping to go to the Bryce Canyon area for the meteors --we were thinking about Sedona but there is a little too much light pollution. But the best time might be late on the night of the 16th, since the moon comes up in the predawn hours of the 17th.

And as we all know, there might be clouds -- our last several meteor expeditions have been disappointing. We have a rule -- never go camping simply to see meteors, since it might be cloudy. We always make sure that there is something else to do, usually hiking.

We can't either. We went to Joshua Tree NP a couple of years ago, what a great view of the night sky no lights from houses or business, could see for miles. It was one time that the moon wasn't out also.
