We have a Washington state senior off season pass that allows us to camp for free ($10 for hookups which we don’t need) from October-March and Sunday-Thursday in April fir $75. It’s a great deal and we use it in the off season. Last Thursday, we left for Fort Casey state park. It was probably ¾ full but no one was on either side. It was a bit stormy and it rained a bit, but, hey, we are on a beach. The word got out that this weekend was supposed to be sunny and it is. But, the campground is full today and day use people are here, too. I don’t begrudge everyone because it’s their Park, too. But, generator to the front, generator to the back and they are loud and incessant. At least they go off at 9pm. So, once again, I am reminded why I like remote campsites away from the big RVs that need all that power for all their toys. I guess we are introverts and prefer solitude and quiet. Next time we will camp midweek to avoid the crowds.

I hate generators in CGs and use mine at 43 dBs only when necessary due to lack of sun. Others seem to love the hummmm, the roar, the fumes.

What do you want for $75??? and yes I'm one of those big MHs but I only run my generator for 1.5 hours at dinner and it's fairly quite.

I don't know If I should tell ya, but Kulshan Camp ground at Baker lake is free too in the off season. And it was empty today.

I think campgrounds are becoming as noisy as cities. Generators, speakers on the outside of RVs, boom-boxes where they have no outdoor speakers, etc. Just the normal, many-people noises. For those of us who want a quieter experience, we have to boondock, or find the lightly-used campgrounds. You don't go to a popular lake on the weekends and not expect to hear boats all day. Same with popular campgrounds, unfortunately.

We prefer off season touring and camping, fewer crowds. We don't mind the farthest out campsite, or a tent site if the cg will allow it. The tent areas are usually quiet, and the tent campers we've encountered seem to follow "early to bed, early to rise". Peace. (and quiet) :C

I just shouldn’t chuckle when I’m up EARLY fixing breakfast, running the water heater and water pump and sometimes even my UNneeded generator at the first allowable time when kept awake by clowns next door partying until 2 a.m. but I do and I chuckle.

Just because some folks can camp quieter than church mice doesn't mean we all have to.

Same as some folks can camp with nothing more than a hammock and sleeping bag and others prefer a 45 foot pusher with four slides.

I don’t mind generators; I just don’tlike loud ones. These are loud. If you want to go to a campground to watch TV, that is your choice. My choice is to not camp at these campgrounds on a weekend. The FHU sites were filled so the big RV folks had to camp in the economy sites.

At least some of these rigs can’t go where we go unless they want a totally destroyed RV.

Baker Lake isn’t too far from where we live so thanks for the heads up. We have boondocked near a closed campground there once. We just wanted the beach this time. Next time, we will head for the hills.

If I wanted to stay somewhere where all I could hear was other people's noise, I'd camp at a shopping mall on black Friday, or a construction site, or in a traffic jam, or at a major sporting event, or in a subway station, a NASCAR race, an airport runway, or maybe even a rock concert.
I don't know anyone who asks, "when is -your preferred campground here- the busiest, I love crowds, and screaming kids, and loud generators, and barking dogs, and TVs and stereos blaring?". (actually, I like dogs, just not barking ones late at night :C ).

We have found that the quite places seldom have much to do, exciting places draw people, people make noise.
