Going to spend a month or so "Doing" Michigan this summer and would appreciate any and all ideas of things to see and do in Michigan. Thanks one and all.

As already mentioned, you could spend several days at the Henry Ford. That complex has Greenfield Village, the Henry Ford museum and an assembly plant tour.
We spend a month every year touring the outer edge of the lower Peninsula. Our favorite towns are Lexington, Port Austin, Tawas, Mackinaw, Petoskey, Traverse City, Ludington, Silver Lake (sleeping bear dunes), Grand Haven and Holland, Saugatuck.
