Palo Duro is the Grand Canyon of Texas. As both of you said, it is a very neat place. My family was there June 2009 and it was 117F degrees! Im not much on plays, but you have to watch TEXAS - the outdoor play @ Palo Duro Canyon. Very impressive! We plan on going back this Fall when its cooler weather.
