Socorro NM RV parks
Thinking about a couple day layover in Socorro on the way south. RVparkreviews.com only shows two RV parks and the ratings didn't sound too good. Went to the socorronm.org and it lists 7 in the area. ...

Elephant Butte State Park is very nice has many places some with full hookups. It is at Elephant Butte exit before one gets to T or C. There is another state park several miles south of TorC as well. Caballo Lake State Park.
Yep! the Bosque del Apache NWR is a neat place to see. Never stayed at Birdwatchers, but would if going up there with the trailer.
Another neat place, but off I-25 to the east from San Antonio, NM is Valley of Fires BLM Rec. Area & campground. The CG is very nice many with water & electric. Reviews-Valley_of_Fires_Recreation_Area-Carrizozo_New_Mexico.html
One can make it to Carrizozo & by pass ABQ as well as Santa Fe by take US 84 just passed Las Vegas which will take you to I-40, after cross the 40 the road turns to NM 219 which will quickly take you to US 54, turn right (south) & it will take you to Carrizozo. Take US 380 left (West) to get to Valley of Fires. US 380 will take you to I-25 at San Antonio as well. Or go back to US 54 to Alamogordo & take US 70 to Las Cruces to I-25 as well as I-10.
