Reading, PA campground suggestions

We are planning on being in Reading, Pennsylvania in June, and are looking for a campground relatively nearby.

Any suggestions? We are looking at "Sill's" and "Dutch Cousin Campground" for now, welcome ideas and suggestions.

Thanks!

  • Have not been to Sil's in years but still here it is a good place, Sun Valley was mentioned already and on the same road is Oak Creek which use to be our go to spot before retirement and now traveling all summer. Good luck and enjoy
  • French Creek State Park - been there many times - great park;l
Hiking, kayak, disc golf, mnt bike......
  • Are you going to be there for WWII Weekend? If so,Eagles Peak in Robesonia is probably the closet.Nice but expensive.
  • There are plenty closer than Spring Gulch. Are you looking for a "no frills" or "resort style"?
    Appalachian RV Resort in Shartlesville
    Mountain Springs Campground in Shartlesville
    Robin Hill Campground in Lenharstville
    Sill's Campground in Adamstown
    Sun Valley Resort in Narvon
There is one in Leesport that I won't mention, and advise deep research before staying there.
These are probably your 5 closest RV parks with full hookups.
  • I have SEEN signs for both those but have never stayed at either... The closest I stay is Spring Gulch, in New Holland.

I have heard that Dutch Cousin Campground is nicer, but have nothing to back that up...
