X2 stayed there for 5 days March 2013 - trailertravelerExplorerForgot to mention the town of Pinos Altos.
- trailertravelerExplorerCheck out the Geronimo Trail. City of Rocks State Park is not too far from Silver City. The Catwalk was heavily damaged by last years heavy rains and floods so call ahead to see how much has been reopened.
- imgoin4itExplorerSecond vote for Rose valley RV park. If you are a member of the Elks they also have parking spots s with new hook ups.
- joloooteExplorerOn Rt.180 at the Arizona/N.M. border is a wonderful(water only) forest CG called Lake Luna. One of our favorites. In the fall, about Oct. its a great place to listen to the Elk Bugle at night. Rt 180 down to Silver City is one of the most beautiful drives. Along Rt.180 is the old Spanish gold mine Ghost town of Mogollon. Very narrow steep drive up to it tho. Check out the Catwalk. Beautiful walk along the creek.
- lanerdExplorer IIWe stayed at the KOA.... it was ok...nothing to write home about.
