- stripitExplorerSpent 3 months in Snow to Sun and felt it was a very decent park. Close to things yet out where it was quiet. I would return if in that area. We called and got a "special rate" that saved us a lot of money at the time.
- RiceExplorer IIIIt never occurred to me to negotiate on a price that is posted on a website. Can you tell me how that would happen?
I assume I call and ask if they have space for an RV my size on my proposed date and if they say yes, then I ask what it costs per night. But then what happens? I say, "Can you give me a better price than that?" Would they really go down to $8 from $33? - TripalotExplorerIf you decide on Snow to Sun, contact the resort directly - often the best rate can be negotiated that way. We have been there in March for $8 a night. By April, most of the Winter Texans will have left and park activities will be winding down.
The other poster made the location sound out in the country. It is in a bit of a rural/residential setting but only 2 miles to big grocery stores and anything else you could want. Best of both worlds in our opinion. The interstate that goes across the RGV is less than a mile away as are several restaurants. - RiceExplorer IIIWe stayed at Snow to Sun in Weslaco when we had dental work done in Nuevo Progreso (note only one S) a couple of years ago. It's out in the middle of farms, but convenient to the border. It's a snowbird kind of place with activities and most people seem to know each other. We didn't hang out there at all.
We chose it because it was Passport America and therefore cheap (we already had the PA membership). I just checked their website and March and April are still high season--$33/day. PA is valid starting in April, and it's $16/day with a six-night maximum. Regular price drops to $20 in May, in case your trip is delayed. - TripalotExplorerWE have enjoyed staying at Snow to Sun in Weslaco. It is about 10 miles to Progresso on Route 1015 - the park is located on this road and is convenient to shopping and restaurants. It is a Sun Resort and they have good first timer specials. Also, rates in March are very good.
