Recommendations for Minocqua WI

X2 on Patricia Lake. Great place to stay with full hookups. Close enough to walk to town.

Just to close the loop. We stayed at Patricia Lake Campground. Our original lakeside site was not suitable for our TC with cargo trailer hooked up. (Couldn't get into the darn thing due to a narrow, treed and steep access lane.) We parked on that site with TC only for first night and then the owners moved us to a larger, accessible site where we could stay coupled and back in. The sites are sandy so in wet weather, there may be an issue with tracking dirt etc. We had a few drizzles but did not find the site got overly messy. Heck ... we're camping right!

Overall Patricia Lake Campground was clean, quiet and scenic. There is a pretty even balance between seasonal residents and transients. There is a reasonably well stocked store and WiFi is available for a fee which we purchased. WiFi is free at the store which features some tables, a couch and chairs in front of a fireplace. Although the restroom/pay showers were older, they were clean and functional with no issues. The owners were friendly and accommodated our needs responsively. She's very customer/people centric and he is more task centered and no nonsense. We camped just after Labor Day (no kids around) and enjoyed our time there. We recommend without hesitation.

I am originally from Davenport, Iowa (part of The Quad-Cities in Iowa and Illinois). The people running Minocqua Pizza company started in Davenport and still have a pizza restaurant there (Uncle Bill's). They make an exact clone of 'Quad-Cities' style pizza at their Minocqua restaurant. Terrific pizza, in my unbiased humble opinion. Uncle Bill was working in the kitchen when I visited. I spoke with his son, who told me the story. The place seems to be very popular - the line stretched out the door on a mid-week evening. I recommend the sausage pizza.

My suggestion is Arbor Vitae Campground. Less than 6 miles from dowmtown Minoqua.

They have Full Hookups and/or Water/Electic sites.

Beautiful area so enjoy wherever you stay.

I know this doesn't help you out but we will be there this winter snowmobiling. It is a beautiful area! You should be happy anywhere you stay.
