Minocqua, Woodruff WI Area RV Parks

Just looking to get feedback on any good RV parks in the area. Considering spending a week in summer 2015. Would apprciate any recommendations on parks. I have a 5th wheel 38 feet. So sometimes trees get in the way. I have stayed in cabins prior to this so I know the area quite well, but would like to bring my own bed this time.
  • We stayed at Indian Shores in July. This place was one of the best CGs I have ever stayed at. Its only a 5 min. drive into town.
  • Thanks again, has anyone heard of Camp Holiday, In Boulder Junction Wisconsin, someone told me about this, said big rigs Welcome, any feedback would be helpful, appeciate all the feedback so far. However, 15 miles north of Minocqua. So a litte out from my original post.
  • We enjoyed our recent four night stay at Patricia Lake Campground. Our site was a back-in but they do have a few drive-thrus. Within minutes of anyone leaving their site there was a crew there to clean out the fire pit and rake the whole site for the next guest.
  • Indian Shores had plenty of room to maneuver my 35ft TT around. I think there are also some other sections, but those are cramped! The section we were in was very roomy. We are 55feet total length with no issues.
  • Appreciate the feedback, it is hard to find a good site in Northern Wisconsin, with a 5th wheel, so pretty but many trees, it sounds like a pull through is really the key, because of the trees. Those seem hard to find.

Wish I had more than two RV parks to pick from, appreciate more options if there are any.

    Thanks

We stayed at Arbor Vitae Campground two years ago. We enjoyed it, the WIFI was a bit "so-so" the further away from the office you get but all in all a nice place to stay. Very peaceful and the people there were friendly.

We stayed there in a 38' Montana, it was a little bit tight getting into but doable. Would we go back there? Yes.

  • We stayed at Indian Shores Campground in Woodruff on Tomahawk Lake. very nice campground. we were there in July 2010. I would definitely go back there again.

This was our view until the neighbors showed up the next day!

We had a premium site with concrete pad. there was more than enough room to have the slide and awning out and be able to walk all the way around the trailer and stay on the concrete. the pad was about 50X20. the lake was OK, but the campground is on the windy side of the lake and all the debris washes to the campground side. we found a nice lake not to far away that was beautiful and quiet.

    You`ll enjoy the area!
  • Thanks for all the comments so far, it just hard to find a good place in such a pretty area of Wisconsin. State parks are great in Wisconsin as well, but many have way too many trees and a tight back in, and that can destroy your rig.

I hope someone will connect with me.
  • Funny you should ask. I am sitting in Patricia Lake Campground which is just east of Woodruff. It is a little tight getting into because of trees. The owners were very helpful and are very nice people. We are only here for the night. It appears like a nice operation. I can't comment on much else since we just set up.
  • I will be interested to see what you find. We looked at all the ones we could find, and were not impressed. We camped in the State Forest campgrounds, but there are no hookups, and most sites would not fit your rig. There are some that would, though, and the parks are nice, like state parks on lakes.
