Recommendations in Black Hills?

Going to spend a few days near Deadwood on our way to Yellowstone (not during Sturgis Rally...rates are crazy for that!), anybody have recommendations for this area? Was looking at Fish n Fry or Chris', but open to any ideas.
  • Horse Thief campground is quiet and compared to many others places a good deal for the price.
  • Skip the private CG's and head for Custer State Park. So much cheaper and so scenic. We just left Blue Bell after staying 4 nights and we have moved south of Hot Springs to Angostura with a site right on the water. Great facilities and campgrounds in both locations. Electric sites only but that works fine for us.
  • Take the Grayline bus tour of the area. The drivers know what to look for and explain what you are seeing.
What movie was made in the Black Hills?
  • Fish N Fry is a nice, little older campground. Restrooms and showers are old style, but clean. It can be busy, and sites are close together. Their water system, and electric has been updated.

I've stayed there many times over the years.

    Jerry
