Should this policy be extended to all businesses? Say you don't arrive for your 7PM reservation at a restaurant. Should they keep your table open and charge you for meals? You had ample opportunity to tell them your situation and keep the remainder of your reservation, but you didn't.Roadpilot wrote:
Unfortunately you picked a desirable, highly rated campground in one of the nicest areas in Maine. Summer is their peak and only season. I'm sure they had a long list of people they had to turn away.
I also wonder why you went back to MD. There were other campgrounds in Kennebunkport that you could try. I also know of a couple of good campgrounds near Portsmouth that may have had room. Portsmouth is 45 minutes from Kennebunkport.
If they continue their practice of being RUDE to people they won't be top-rated for long.
When a campground tells you it is fine to arrive after they close (due to extenuating circumstances ....) and then cancels the rest of your reservation and treats you nasty in the process - NOT A GOOD Business practice. It is obvious that my comments sparked some negativity in some people in this particular forum - let's hope the owners take to heart what happened and consider how they treat people in the future - reputation depends on it.
Looks like I am not the only one they treated badly ...
