Hey, I'm getting a bit of a head start on my 2020 planning. I want to visit Redwood National Park for a few days...I'd love to stay in the park but none of the sites in the parks have any hookups. So, I'm hoping to get some suggestions on some nice campgrounds in the area that offer hookups but are still among the redwoods. I'm not interested at all in the parking lot style rv parks and I'm not too picky on location. I've come across Emerald Forest Cabins & RV Park and it looks decent. Also, the KOA in Crescent City seems to have some sites in the trees. Any others suggestions? Thanks!

Ancient Redwoods rv park in Redcrest right on the Avenue of the Giants is our favorite. Full hookups and close to all the parks and things to see.

We stayed at the Sequoia RV Ranch, Three Rivers, CA, a couple of years ago. Just outside the park entrance and right on a river. Very nice experience.Rob

We stayed at the Crescent City KOA two years ago. The campground was about 15 minutes from Redwoods National Park. It wasn't anything special, but it was certainly fine for a exploration base. Nice enough laundry room and the staff was polite.

I liked Giant Redwood RV park in Myers Flat.

Wooded area on the Eel River and a great base camp for exploring the Avenue Of The Giants

Myers Flat is about the center of the Avenue with great scenery in both directions.

A lot of people have suggested ancient redwoods Rv park..it has quite good reviews too...but it just has that parking lot look that I'd like to avoid...but it might work. Thanks again!

We stayed last year at Emerald Forest in Trinidad .The campground is only 30 minutes away from the Redwoods park. You have full hookups and lots of trees. It also has a small store. I would bo back to that place again.

Another vote for Crescent City KOA. LOVED the big trees in part of the CG. (Most of the sites in the trees are tent sites, though.)

There are small RV parks in most of the small towns along the avenue of the giants, you can google map them to see if there are trees to your taste.

We were just at Ramblin Redwoods Campground near Crescent City last week for 5 nights. Pretty nice place... Heavily wooded with the scent of the Redwoods. The biggest negative is the dusty gravel road through the park is annoying. Some sites are close together also. Right in Redwood country. I would stay there again. SeaQuake Brewing in town is very popular.

Here's a picture of our campsite from Ancient Redwoods in Redcrest:

Nice place, but no cell service on AT&T or Verizon.

I did pay for the upgraded WiFi at 5gb a pop. I work and the kids school/stream/etc.

Nice bathrooms and laundry facilities.

We also stayed at Klamath River RV Park. Nice place, but no usable cell service and their WiFi was just as bad. I had to drive up to the casino to get usable Verizon service (still not AT&T).

Apparently I didn't get any pictures of their campsites- but we were in a grass back-in spot off on the outer edge. It was nice and easy to park in.

Here's the closest thing I have to a picture of it (we almost pulled out with our antenna up!).

On one of our drives up to Crescent City, we got dinner at CC's Diner and it was fantastic.

We stayed at ancient Redwoods a few years ago, although cell service wasn't the greatest the location can't be beat IMHO. We found the owners/staff to be very friendly and helpful. The WIFI while we were there was "spotty" as well but for us that wasn't a deal breaker! We would DEFINATELY stay there again!

our favorite campground in the area, is Prairie Creek State Park. Roosevelt Elk often walk through the campsites. Fern Canyon is a must see. Bachelor Elk often are found on the beaches.
