- stormysmomExplorerYes..we actually use the RV park as an address, we just want to remain residents of Virginia. Or least I do. My dh would rather be a Florida resident..and never leave there. LOL
- dahkotaExplorerWe didn't own property in Florida but we did have a mailing address. The dealer had no problem registering our rv in Florida though we were residents of Maryland. Same with our jeep. The rv was purchased in Florida, the jeep in Maryland. Subsequently, we became Florida residents to save on state income tax.
- RoadpilotExplorerWe did just that. I forget if it helped that we own property here so have an address.
- The_TexanExplorerI am a resident of Idaho and our motorhome is registered in FL, but we do own property there. We do not reside there any portion of the year, all our property is rental units. The problem will be if it is financed, getting the financial institution to allow the title to be transferred to Florida.
- stormysmomExplorerThanks mabynack.
Right. That's what I thought too. But the DMV in Pinellas County is so so so busy. You could wait HOURS for service or even info. I can't imagine actually calling them??? OMG sounds unbelievably frustrating to me.. LOL..which is why I posted here.. :) - mabynackExplorer III would call the DMV in the Florida county you live in to see. The web page for the DMV doesn't specifically address this unless you're an active duty military member. I looked on the requirements page to see what type of documents you need to present when registering a vehicle and it doesn't say anything about proof of residence.
