I got booted out of a Bureau of Rec campground at a lake in CA on Monday! :M Glad my trip is almost over, since my 50% discount Golden Geezer card is useless for a while. :)
Just out of curiosity how old does a Geezer need to be in order to qualify for the 50% discount?
Thanks
Sixty-two for the Senior National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass. But it's a one time $10 fee. Sixty-two seems to be the going age for most senior discounts.

You may want to check this site, this is from the Geo Washinton NF site, but it applies to all NF's,http://www.fs.usda.gov/gwj
National Parks are closed.
National Forest and BLM public land boondocking is still open.
A great big yellow banner, that say the NFS is closed. :(
The offices and some facilities are closed. The land itself is still open. - nevadanickExplorerI spent the day in the national forest cutting firewood and no Barney Fife in sight and a half dozen dispersed campers out there.
- LenSaticExplorerMy wife is a volunteer gardener at BLM's San Pedro House, here, and didn't get the memo. She showed up this morning and was the only one there...except for visitors who kept asking her if she could open the gift shop for them, which she couldn't. She didn't learn about the shutdown until she got home and I told her. (I was still asleep when she left. :))

We leave tomorrow for the Oregon coast, State parks and boondocking camping for us, have a safe trip home and will give you a shout when we get home.
