Update: Very much worth stopping for! My son and I were expecting an little room with some shotguns - Nope! A well laid out museum with guns from matchlocks all the way to the latest sporter rifles. Also had a Remington bicycle (yes, Remington made bicycles a long time ago), Remington typewriter, and just a bunch of other stuff that Remington has dabbled in over the, well, centuries.
Son was impressed when he saw a Remington Moison-Nagant (sp?) rifle, part of a special order made for Russia after Germany attacked them. I guess they are rather rare, even though they made 65,000 of them at the time.
The museum is open to the public during normal business hours. You can skim through it in under an hour, but if you appreciate the history of guns give yourself 2 hours. The receptionist said there are no factory tours... I don't know if you can make an appointment for a group, I should have asked.
Gift shop was good, too. Everything thing from coffee mugs and keychains, hats, T-shirts, etc to gun cleaning supplies and maintenance tools. The prices surprised me, I didn't think the stuff was expensive at all, especially as it is a "gift shop".
As for parking, there is a medium size parking lot to the left as you approach for the museum, and a variety of larger ones scattered about. I had plenty of room to loop around with my truck and TT.
