That's fer sure, that's for dang sure! :R - CarryOnExplorer"Nothing EAST of the Mississippi River! That's for sure! "
Try the Northern Maine Woods and the Allagash.
Further South......Tate's Hell State Forest in the Florida Panhandle.
And just about any National Forest in between !!
Mike - PadlinExplorerHaven't done much boondocking but many of the places we stayed in southern UT were pretty far out there. We had Ponderosa Grove BLM CG to ourselves, other then the occasional car going by out on the main dirt road headed to the sand dunes. Even Gooseneck SP is pretty remote, although you are certainly not the only one there, same with Hovenweep.
- JerseydevilExplorer^^^^^Wow all these places sound amazing....dreaming on...
- VeebyesExplorer IINot necessarily remote but many mid week early & late season nights where we have been in SPs either all by ourselves or with only a couple others in the CG.
- bcbouyExplorerwhere to start? from the nearest town(barkerville) about 80km's north east.and from nimpo lake we went as far as the road went south.god only knows how long that trip was but we drove for 3 hours and saw not a single living soul.drove for half a day up a forest service road parallel to wells grey national park. we've been so far out in the middle of nowhere we didn't see anybody for over a week.not even an airplane flew over.anyone from british columbia knows what i'm talking about.remote is an understatement for some of the places we end up.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWe volunteered as gate keepers on a 10,000 acre ranch in gorgeous Oregon!
- Jayco-noslideExplorerPossibly Big Bend NP in Texas. Sizable towns and the interstate is pretty far. Secondly, the east side of Glacier NP again because of the distance to larger towns, Walmart, etc.
- K_CharlesExplorerWe went around the Gaspe Peninsula and some places we stopped were what I would call remote. When we did it in the '60s some places we stayed had seen no campers for days at a time. One cow pasture with 2 picnic tables and they said to close the gate when you leave.
