We are former residents of Reno and staying at Shamrock RV right now. I highly recommend it, the park is excellently maintained. For example, the laundry room floor is waxed and very clean. The bathrooms are immaculate and just painted. It is located in an industrial area of Reno, so what? It's close to the 395 and easy access to everything. Shamrock has easy acess, long pull throughs on rows E, F & G. DO NOT stay at the Bonanza Terrace, we drove through and it's very junky, many permanent residents with plywood around the bottom of the rv. It is also very hilly, you notice that many people say you have to back up hill to get into the site on rv park reviews? We've stayed at the Grand Sierra and it's fine too, flat easy access sites. Sparks Marina RV sites are a bit more narrow & shorter but has nice facilities. The "marina" part of it is an old rock quarry that filled up with water during the flood of the Truckee River in 1997, I think. The Sparks city officials left the water and re named it a marina, now it has a park, outlet mall and an rv park. They stock it with fish. You say you are coming early September, try to avoid Labor Day weekend, that's the time of the rib cookoff in Sparks and all rv parks are packed and they raise the rates to $65 or $75 a day. Boomtown is a bit further out of town, I don't like KOA's so I would never stay there. You can pm me if you have any other questions I can answer.
