Cancellation Policies:
Refunds will be made using the same method as the original transactions, e.g. credit card, gift card, check or cash payment.
Campsites (electric and non-electric): Any changes or cancellations made prior to the scheduled arrival date will result in the loss of the $3.00 per night, non-refundable reservation fee. Cancellations made on the scheduled arrival date will result in a loss of one night's camping for each reservation as well as the $3.00 per night reservation fee. No refunds for no-shows, cancellations or early departures after the date of arrival. If a camper cannot arrive by park closing hours on the scheduled arrival date, they must contact the park by 3 p.m. the following day to reschedule arrival. Otherwise, campsites will be returned to rental inventory.
All the states which use Reserve America have a similar page which list all the fees.
But remember RA does not set the fees, the individual states and federal agencies set the fees when they make a contract with RA.
RA gets a standard rate of about $2-2.50 per day per reservation from the contracting agency, and about $4 to $5 for a cancellation or change to a reservation.
Any fees above that go to the state/ federal agency.
Florida raised their cancellation fee to discourage people snapping up reservations and deciding later that they couldn't go to the park.
Some states - such as NC - want the camper to pay full price for the camping spot and all the fees associated with managing the reservation system.
