I don't have a slide. But if I did have a bedroom slide I guarantee you it would be out if I had to sleep. Yes it would be to your advantage to try to park in a spot where your slide doesn't impede traffic or encroach on the next spot over. That's why some people say they try to find an end spot where the slide can extend over an island or grass area. But other than that if you need the slide out then put the slide out.
If your setup is kind of short park with the rear near the back of the spot. That way a tired trucker won't mistake where you are as an open spot and start to turn in before your see your rig.
