We have over-nighted in Walmarts, truck stops, rest areas and campgrounds. We have also pulled out of a campground just off the interstate in the middle of the night because we did not feel safe and I am a retired LEO. At the time, I was still working, but had DH, and 2 DDs with me. We went down the interstate another 20 miles and found a rest area, pulled in between two trucks, opened our window, turned on the Maxx-air fan and slept like a baby.
I realize that truck drivers are driving for their livelihood and I am camping for fun. I try my best to stay out of their way, as much as possible. We do not have to open our slides to access our bedroom, bathroom or refrigerator. In our old 5'er, we had to open a slide, so DH and I slept on our dinette when we were traveling.
