That is my biggest concern about extending slides in parking areas.
choose a spot at the perimeter where the slide can be extended over the curb, grass area. I've even done a 180 to get in a good position, use a big light pole to protect your slide (Walmart parking).
This was one of the things that we took into consideration when looking at floor plans, how usable is the RV with the slides in?
(obviously you don't have that option now).
