- MDKMDKExplorerYep, that **** climate keeps changing. :R
- chris3403ExplorerCurrently in the RGV at Harlingen and the worse appears over. Currently @35 only going down to 34 tonight, will be back in the 70's Saturday almost hitting 80 Sunday.
- TomG2ExplorerWe have had six "Cold fronts" pass through the RGV since the first of December. Most have been pretty cool or even cold. Same pattern is predicted for the rest of the Winter. Up for a few days and down for a few days. We do not like the downs. It was colder in McAllen, Texas at noon today than Calgary, Alberta. (36 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit for Canada)
- Chuck_thehammerExplorer,
last winter was Great in the RGV
climate change... See its still changing.. and always will..
like the FLU.. sometimes they nail it.. sometimes they miss.
this winter.. major cold fronts.. covering over 80 percent of the USA...
Florida, Texas, Arizona.... everyone is getting some "COLD"...
29 yesterday morning... I 69 and I 2 were closed for a time. iced bridges.. no salt trucks.
was in the 70's last week... and 80's expected this coming week. - IvylogExplorer IIIIt's been easy this year to give fellow Snowbirders a hard time in the RGV about the "good" weather. Some must work for the CofC posting it's 70 degrees and sunny when it was actually 50 and raining making it easy to post "you need to get out from under the sun lamp". On Jan 1..."14 seasons here (RGV) I have already worn long pants more than any other Winter".
While there have been many days when the RGV's highs have been lower than our lows in WPB and normally you can count on one hand the number of overcast/rain days we are going to need both hands and feet. Normally we can go a month without any rain...not this winter.
*At the top of the snowbird section is an easy "clicky" to see what's going on in the four snowbird areas. I follow Joe Bastardy at www.wearherbell.com who puts out a winter weather forecast in September that has been very accurate making it possible to change areas if you are flexible. This winter using his forecast you would have headed to AZ or CA and then FL with TX in last place. - fchammer1ExplorerYep, even Florida for a few days, but a glance at a national weather map on TV tells the tale every time.
- Us_out_WestExplorerWeather in S. Arizona has been just what we expected....again....since we got down here last October.
Mostly sunny with above average temps. Had a couple days in the 50's, some 60's, and alot of 70's and 80's. Forecast continues to look awesome!!
4 or 5 days where we had some rain, all except 1 were just truck spotters.
No big wind events, freezing temps or any signicant precip since we arrived last October.
Typical sunrise...
Edit to reduce image size - Snowman9000ExplorerYeah, I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, but AZ weather has been beautiful. Low 70s just about every day. We are supposed to have 50's either tomorrow or Saturday, can't remember which. Then back to normal.
It's actually been statistically warmer than normal this winter in AZ. Plants are coming alive early, pollen counts are picking up. - joebedfordNomad IIGoing out for a motorcycle ride in a few minutes starting from Mesa, AZ
