List what you want in an RV park. Look up a park. Rate the park on what you want on a 1 to 5 scale. Divide by the number on your list. Eliminate those scoring 2.5 or lower. Redo to get the top three.

Hi, Glad you are on your way to the Valley. We are in our third year at Mission Bell/Tradewinds RV Resort in Mission. It was originally two parks that are now one. We have the only salt water pools in the Valley and the biggest dance hall. There are things to do every day all day of your choosing. We stay on the Tradewinds side. We have a pool, hot tub, sewing & quilt room, dance/meeting hall, wood working shop, shuffleboard and bocce ball courts. There are card games, Spanish lessons, bingo, ice cream socials, line dance lessons, ballroom dance lessons, two step lessons, guitar lessons, dances every week, entertainment, a billiards room, craft shows monthly etc. We would love to have you join us here. We are conveniently located on Business 83. Tradewinds is at 1005 N. Stewart Road, but the office at Mission Bell handles all the business. We have some empty RV sites still. It is a vibrant park and everyone is friendly here. lots to do and see in the Valley. Hope you join us. Tim & Susie Zich

To the OP; Would help if you shared some of your preferences. Price, proximity to South Padre Island, dancing, hobbies, dining, etc, With over 400 parks, the RGV has about anything you would want, ranging from high end full service parks to low cost mom and pop operations. This park has an indoor pool, two RC car racing tracks, air rifle range, RC boat and drone activities, weekly dances, and a whole lot more. I even understand there is a nudist park for those so inclined.

This is not true. Our park, Restful Valley Ranch at the west end of IH2 toward Penitas has a salt water pool. Converted a couple years ago. I suspect others have them as well. Don't know that is a big "selling" point, but wanted to point that out. You probably do have the biggest dance hall. LOL

There are hundreds of parks strewn across 83/IH2 from Brownsville to Mission. A booklet is printed every year that has all the parks identified and info about the amenities.

Depending on what you want, you should be able to find something that will fit with your lifestyle and things you like to do. At some parks, you rent your site, at others, like ours, we own our lot and our park. We make our own decisions. That has advantages and disadvantages, same as with rental parks. Owners here can rent their lots/park models, etc.

We always advise people to find a park, rent a spot for a week or two and explore the area. Then you can move on, rent again, and explore the next area. We are about 90 miles from South Padre, so there are a lot of parks and varied activities between Mission and Padre, so a lot to look at.

Smart way to do things.

Just like in real estate, it's location, location, location. Some are better then others based on what you are use too and expect.

Once you find your location, then look for the park.

r/c truck track.. and once a week racing.

last year.. we came here for 30 days.. stayed for 5 months.. then returned this year... for 5 months.

On the west end of the Valley check out Mission West, then on Bentsen Palm Drive, Bentsen Grove, Americanna, Green Gate Grove, Golden Grove, Val's Country Corral and high end Retama Village and Bentsen Palm Village Resort. Near the World Birding Center, State Park, National Butterfly Center and paved biking trails. A mile off interstate #2, semi rural and easy fast access to McAllen and Mission.

We spend a week here and there in the valley and supposedly there are more than 500 parks. Amenities for us are simple, a nice club house where we can have happy hour, a gym with good weight equipment, showers, a warm pool and jacuzzi without too many restrictions (hours, use of plastic glassware).

My personal best pics are; Kenwood in La Feria, Victoria Palms (great clubhouse), Retama Village for the layout and use of bikes to go the birding center, and also Casa del Valle in Alamo (favorite).

Again, these are just my picks.
