We decided to take a last minute trip to Rockport Texas. We would like a campground on the beach in Rockport or not too far out of Rockport so we can go into town and enjoy some of the seafood restaurants. So we would like your suggestions on a campground in Rockport on the beach. We have a 25 foot travel trailer and will be going from Monday through Friday of next week. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We frequently stay in Blue Lagoons RV Resort on North Fulton Beach Drive, Rockport. The park is bayfront and is within just a short trip of everything Rockport has to offer. Do an internet search for the phone number (not sure I can post it here).There's a new trolly (bus) system that Rockport has implemented that stops just down the street from the park. There are also cabs available to and from the numerous restaurants and bars.

There are no campgrounds on the beach! You would need to go to Port-A for that. There are a few on the Bay. Copano Bay RV Resort, our RV park Bahia Vista RV Park, and Blue Lagoons (basically a parking lot). There is also Goose Island SP across the new causeway. We live here so PM if you want additional info. or have more ?'s!

My suggestion is to get a good campground directory that would allow you to peruse the possibilities at your leisure in case the answers from this Forum are not complete or satisfactory.If the latter is true try also doing a Google search for `rockport tx campgrounds' and see what you get.

I'd avoid shady sites in the trees due to all the rain we've had lately. Must be a bumper crop of mosquitoes in the wooded sites by now.
