Hello. We're planning our first long distance road trip with our travel trailer. First stop is Niagara Falls. Any tips on best route from the Myrtle Beach area? All of the route planners I'm using sends us through WV to avoid the Arlington... traffic. Does anyone know if there's another, better route? Also, what's your favorite rv gps? I'm an apple map/siri user, but I'm checking out RV Life. Any pointers/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I use TomTom. Plan my routes on the website where I have it configured for my configuration: Total length, heighth and width. Once route is done, I synch it to my phone.

What's your aversion to WV? I live in Wilmington NC, so very close to you and just did a trip to Buffalo to ride the Erie canal bike trail. I avoid driving NOVA/95 Fredericksburg, 495/270 like the plague. Your best bet is 95 N, 17 at Fredericksburg, 66 over to 81N in WV, 70 West in MD and then proceed North from there (76/99). I find WAZE offers the best routes.
No aversion, just seems there has to be a more direct way and my SC husband is more used to flat land😜. Trying to avoid starting our first long distance trip by going through the WV mountains. Plus, I’m from KY and have seen lots of WV, so it’ll be nice to have a route where we both see new things. That looks like a much better route, and we get to see the Shenandoah Valley. Not any real mountains if you take 95 to 17 at Fredericksburg. A few hills on 66, but 81 in WV all the way to 70 is flat. That said, 70 to the turnpike all the way to Buffalo has some mountains. Unavoidable no matter what way you go. But not huge mountains like you'd get in TN or anything more western.
