if you travel from the south, from I-81 you will take I-77 then I-64 to US19. I-77 has mountains and tunnels but just take it slow and you'll be fine. Beautiful drive. US19 doesn't have any steep grades. The bridge is on this highway. There are 2 options for camping both about 20 miles north of the bridge: Battle Run Campground a Corps of Engineers campground on Summersville Lake in Summersville WV. Water and electric with dump station. Most reasonably priced option. www.recreation.gov (get the seniors pass for discounts if you qualify). Another option at the same exit is Summersville Lake Retreat. Full hookups. Walmart and USave grocery nearby.
