rv park billing?

The rv park I'm staying in for 3 months wants to do 30 day months. That is, I arrived 6/10/13, told them I wanted to stay 3 months, they are saying my departure date is 9/8/13. I have never stayed with anyone that did this, is it normal?

  • If it were based on the month. How would it go when you stayed in January for 31 days, but in February you got 3 days less. I think 30 is a good round number. But I do like 28 (4 weeks) better.

Sounds like you will either be leaving on 9/18/13 or pay for two additional days. Their park their rules.

Look at it this way...if you were staying during February, you would gain a few days!
  • So, I assume that they want you to pay for an additional 2 days at the daily rate, to pick up some extra cash.
I'd talk with the owner, and express your thoughts about this, and let them know that you are displeased. They may give you a break, if they thing you will be a customer next season. If not, I'd let them know that you WON'T be back next year, and I'd leave on the 8th....I doubt that they will make any extra money, and I'd sure as heck not be the one giving it to them!

Is it a common practice.....maybe, though it would sure be nice, if they put it in writing someplace (which they may have).....be glad that they didn't use February as their guide...you'd be leaving a week early!!:)
  • We stay in a campground that calls 28 days a month, but it's still less money than paying by the week.
