- love2rvcampExplorerAs others have said if you don't need to be on the beach Willow Tree is perfect. Each to their own about having to be on the beach when going to MB. We camp each year in MB and for the past 3 years have stayed at Willow Tree and we have tried others. There are many reason to go and enjoy MB with out having to stay on the beach. Everyone has their likes/dislikes and personal reasons.
We have a son that is on the autism sprectrun and being at one of the big campgrounds is too much stimulation for him. The ocean noise bothers him as well. We try and go to the beach once or twice but generally can only stay for a couple of hours before the crowds and noise get to him.
At Willow Tree we are close enough where I can drive other family members to the beach while someone stays back with our son. He enjoys walking around the lake and probably walks 20 miles during our stay.
That is why I love that MB has so much to offer every family.
Happy Camping - wbwoodExplorerOcean Lakes has a 4 night minimum from June 15 until August 15. Otherwise, no minimum. I think Lakewood does a 4 night minimum from memorial day to labor day or there abouts. I know its a bit longer than Ocean Lakes. KOA has no minimum, but they aren't on the ocean either.

Just noticed that during the summer MBTP has a 7 night minimum and during the rest of the year a 3 night minimum...That's a bit harsh.
It does seem a little heavy but the place is pretty much full throughout the summer.
We spend the winter there and I have seem rv's come in for over-nighters. I think the 3-night minimum is posted so that they can enforce it if they wanted to.
What do the other private parks do?

MBTP is where we'll be staying from now on in Myrtle Beach. If anything, being free from noisy zooming golf carts will be a relief.
Golf carts make staying at the beach so much better!
Not for me. Too many idiot permanent residents at Pirateland spend their day roaming around the entire campground with their radios as high as they can go. If I were listening to the radio that loud on my site, people would be by real soon to tell me to turn it down or they will complain to the office, but for some reason it's ok on the carts. Add the fact that there are some driving that I doubt are old enough to have a driver's license. Security drives around, but don't seem to concern themselves with these residents, since they're the ones paying the big bucks to stay there long term.
Complain about the carts with the loud music. I know I have seen security at Ocean Lakes stop carts and make them turn down the music. - StclairmExplorerMyrtle Beach Travel Park + 2,330,572. Best one we've stayed in.

they don't bother me one way or the other. We stay close enough to the sandy beach, that we don't need one, and take bikes to ride to the store.
I do enjoy sitting on the front row and watching the Golf Cart cruising at night. First it reminds me of my youth cruising around Lincolnton NC. It's the same old story. Boy chases girl. I love that, some things NEVER change. Second. My oldest grandbaby loves to sit on the rail, and slap the carters hands as the drive by.
And the best thing about it. At PirateLand. There is not a cart in sight 5 minutes after 11:00 pm. The Cart curfew is strictly enforced, and you WILL forfeit you cart, and $75.00 if caught out after 11.
After 11. I can sit under the awning, and listen to the surf break on shore. Till I fall asleep. And DW comes and gets me.
