North Beach, which is a city owned park right on the lake is not bad. The biggest downside is that entrance to the municipal beach is through the campground, so it can get a bit busy.
Another decent place is Lone Pine in Colchester, which is roughly 5 miles north of Burlington.
Beyond those two, you would need to travel a bit.
