I will be traveling between Danbury, CT and Gastonia , NC and would like to find a RV Park about halfway.
Any suggestions
look up on a map to see if Lexington,va will work for you...the campground is Lee hi campground...rather new and is at exit 195....about 1.5 miles off the hwy....great spot down behind a truck stop but up on a nice little hill...Chuck - I stayed at Endless Caverns last year for a stop over going to and coming home from Arkansas. Was pleased with the experience.
- anaroExplorerEndless caverns in New market VA is really nice and just over halfway according to Google maps.
- RGar974417ExplorerClaytor Lake State Park is close to an exit and has water and electric sites. There is also a gas station at the exit that has lots of room to fuel up.It is about 10 miles north of I77.

Dublin, VA 24084 - darsbenExplorer IIIf you do not need hook ups the Flying J at exit 323 just as you enter Virginia has always been good for us.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IITwo midway stops that we like are:
Falling Waters Campsite, Falling Waters, WV (Good Sam discount)
Shenandoah Family Campground, Mt Jackson, VA (PA discount)
Both are easy off and on I-81... - mdcampingExplorerWe have done similar trips.
The one we have stop at is http://koa.com/campgrounds/hagerstown it's about 8 hr from eastern CT.
Average campground, good for an overnight stay.
Mike - agwillExplorerThere are a number of KOA's along the way that are not too bad. One in Maryland I have stopped at and a couple in northern VA.
- Vet_ManExplorerWestern Village near Harrisburg PA is our normal stop. Open all year
