- KevinGeiwitzExplorerStand Rock is a very nice CG. 5 miles out of the Dells. The grounds are very well kept and 2 years ago new showers were put in. Mini putt putt for the kids and a fishing pond. Gates close at 10 or 11 to cars so its very quit and security walks the grounds to keep the bonfire talks quit. Its all wooded so it feels like your in a park.
- Sue_BeeExplorerYes, the state parks in Wisconsin book quickly, especially electric spots, so pick your week and get online, it looks like you could be well into August at either state park that is close-ish to the Dells if you are looking to stay a weekend. Again, these offer electric, no water or sewer. Devil's Lake has a lot of sites which you will need to level your rig. Both are very nice parks, and very popular
There are a whole mess of private campgrounds in the area, they range from awful to excellent. A lot of parks are throwbacks to the kitsch of the 60s, and haven't been updated much since. If you elect to go private, do as much research as possible.
Stand Rock is one of the more highly rated private campgrounds. - donut_daveExplorerwe go regularly to devils lake and mirror lake, both are nice parks.
haven't been to rocky arbor.
better get on reserveamerica.com right away to check out availabilities. I would guess that the pickings will be slim this late in the game as the sites can be booked 11 months out. I think you have a better chance at rocky arbor since it is less popular than the other two.
good luck,

Just Google BS. The annual park vehicle sticker is $35 for vehicles with out of state plates, just $10 more than vehicles with Wisconsin plates. Campsites are only $2 more for non-residents. I'd say a pretty good deal considering the amenities that a State park has that an private RV park does not have. Rocky Arbor has electric sites for non-residents for $19. Private campgrounds around the Dells are going to be $10 to $20 more than that.
As a non WI. Resident. You will pay more than a WI. resident in state parks.
Almost Equal to what you will pay at a private park.
Just Google WI. RV parks.
I am an X WI resident.
Wi is only state I have been in that charges for both MH and toad. And charges more for out of state residents. - EsoxLuciusExplorer

- yeabuddyExplorer+1 on Devil's Lake if you like a State Park feel more than a resort type feel. Here's a link to their camping page that also includes this to other local private campgrounds. As far as a better time to go... the Dells is pretty well packed from Memorial to Labor day so it may feel less crowded in May and September.
- FLman2ExplorerSpent a night last Sept in a rv park in Lake Delton, Pretty nice place, far enough from the freeway so there was no noise, close to many of the things to do in the Dells. Can't remember the name of it, but if in area would stay there again.

Just Google WI. RV parks. - EsoxLuciusExplorerState Parks will only have electric sites, no water hookup, and some will have dump stations onsite or nearby. Rocky Arbor State Park is very nice and pretty close to the Dells. There are also Buckhorn and Roche A Cri, very nice but a little drive from the Dells. White Mound Park in Hillpoint has electric sites, some distance from the Dells. Castle Rock and Petenwell County Parks in Adams County are busy and a ways from the Dells. There is a Castle Rock County Park in Juneau County as well.
