San Antonio, Tx area

I believe that you might be able to find lots of information from previous threads regarding San Antonio. We have stayed at Traveler's World, which is just south of the downtown area. It is not a fancy park, but seemed nice enough. We only stayed 2 or 3 nights. There is a public bus that picks up directly in front of the park and goes by the river walk. When we got on, we told the driver our intentions and he was helpful in letting us know when to get off. We thought it was a great plan, as parking is so limited in downtown and usually a bit of a walk to get to the populated area of the riverwalk.

Check out the San Antonio KOA. It is fairly easy to get to and they have bus service from park to downtown I have been told. The SA Bus system has buses that run all over town and they are color coded. You can ride all day for just a couple of dollars, get on and off all you want. See the Alamo, the River Walk, El Mercado, about the best way to get around SA. The drivers are good about telling you what you can see and where to get off and on. Even thou we live not to far from SA,, when we go to the river walk or downtown SA, we park and use the bus to visit the sites.

Traveler's World, it's right on the bus route to downtown; when returning tell the bus driver you'd staying at Traveler's World and the'll drop you at the entrance. It's our choice when we're in SA. Don't use your GPS directions if coming from the north. The best directions are on their website

As already stated Travelers World is what you are probably looking for. It is as close to downtown as you can get and the bus stops out front. The Mexican restaurant across the street is good local Tex-Mex food. If you do stay there be sure that you have a good pressure regulator as the water pressure is like 150 pounds. The missions are all worth seeing and if you do the Alamo be sure to do the walking tour. You will learn a lot. Have fun

Travelers World and KOA are both good options to see downtown. If you are interested in Sea World/Six Flags, then Blazing Star or Admiralty are your best bets.There is no USEFUL mass transit between downtown and the two theme parks.
