The 416 fire has exploded in size, going from about 8800 acres to over 22000 acres practically overnight. Previously reported as 10% contained, obviously that growth will have reduced the contained percentage. Statements prior indicated that anticipated containment toward the end of June would now appear to be optimistic. You may want to keep a close eye on these threads and/or check www.9news.com for further details. That station has a crew on the ground there at the fire scene and will likely keep them there for the foreseeable future.
