- Cocky_CamperExplorer IISantee Coper State Park is right at I-95 and I-26 in SC. It is nice and quiet.
- VE3ESNExplorerWe've used Ft. McAllister State Park in Richmond Hill as it's much closer to I-95 than most of the other parks mentioned. The drive into the downtown area of Savannah was quite pleasant as I recall.
- chuckbearExplorerWe use Savannah RV Resort when going north or coming south on 95. Chuck
- JoeHExplorer IIIA month or so ago we stopped at CreekFire which is close to 95 near Savannah. At other times, we've stopped at Pointe South KOA, but spots in there are a bit tight . They used to have wine tasting and pizza.
These were just overnight stops and not an extended stay to visit the area. - spoon059Explorer IINew Green Acres is a great park for stopping along 95. Before kids we would stop there on the way down for a quick night. Super convenient to 95, but not loud, great big pine trees and really cool pine cones that my wife would pick up and bring back home. Its still an hour from Savannah though.
For staying in Savannah we usually go to Red Gate Campground. Red Gate is about 15 minutes off 95 in a nice quiet area, still only 15 minutes to Savannah.
Last year we stayed at Creek Fire RV Resort, which is maybe 5 minutes off 95, west of 95. Its about 30 minutes to Savannah. Creek Fire is a very nice place and they were still adding amenities last year. Beautiful post and beam gathering place with fireplace, pool, lazy river, restaurant, playground, fire pit.
We've also stayed at James Island County Park, but that is further south and further off 95. Its at least an hour and a half to Savannah.
They are all great parks though, you won't have any issues with any of them! - TxGearheadExplorer IIWe stayed at Skidaway Island SP in Savannah and James Island County Park in Charleston. Both were OK but they both have the same serious problem. They have very low hanging live oak limbs over the streets. I was surprised I got out without ripping my roof open.
- Guy_RoanExplorerWe always use New Green Acres when going to and from Florida
It is right off the highway and just a little south of I-26.
Guy - JJnLillyExplorerX2 on The New Green Acres. Very close to I95 and all long pull though's.
- 2_RetiredExplorerStopping to check out Savannah or just for an overnight? If just overnight, very close to I 95 is this: https://www.campgroundreviews.com/regions/south-carolina/hardeeville/camp-lake-jasper-rv-resort-14573
If you're planning on going into Savannah, try Red Gate Campground, just outside the city. We always UBER in and out, only about $12 each way. Sites are level (not paved) and access is great. - K_CharlesExplorerI think Point South KOA still has wine tastings and is not a bad overnight. Right off 95 just south of Charleston
