Mt Airy is ok if you’re a big fan of the show but it will take imagination to think you are in Mayberry. It does show how attaching a town to a tv show and characters popular for 60 years can save a small town. They do have some good wineries in the area.
Not really much to see in Columbia, we live just outside. If you’re looking for a nice place to spend the night you might like Lake Wateree State Park. North of Columbia off I77.
