Seashore Campsites, Cape May NJ Purchased by Sun RV Resorts

I just read that Seashore Campsites in Cape May has been acquired by Sun RV Resorts. Seashore is our favorite family campground in New Jersey. I don't know much about Sun RV Resorts--can anyone comment? Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Best--Jeremy

  • I'm a seasonal camper at seashore this is our 4 yr here... Same employees are here and sun has spent around a lot of money on enhancement.. We thought the same it would go down hill but not yet..although it doesn't feel the same without the families in charge it's the same as usual....
  • I was very disappointed to read this today. We live very close to this CG and for years have gone there several times a year with our grandchildren for short, getaway trips. We already have two reservations for this coming season. I did just see on the Seashore Campsites Facebook page that son (of the original owners) will still be managing the CG and that the same employees will return. I guess how much the new "corporate" owners are willing to spend to keep the CG at its current high standards eventually be seen. It was always a great place to visit..but I think the track record of "corporate" takeovers usually go downhill more than uphill. Just my opinion.
  • Sun RV resorts just purchased Castaways rv resort
    in Ocean City Maryland also.
  • We were just there this past September. The campground was in great shape. In fact, it is listed as one of the best in the country in the Good Sam Travel Guide this year with a perfect score.
  • We have stayed at Tampa East RV Resort, which Sun bought a few years ago, from the early 90's, before they bought the CG to just recently. I will say it has not gone downhill, but in the same light, Sun has done nothing to enhance the CG. They do offer all kinds of discounts, so maybe it will work out in your favor.
  • Here are a few of the blog posts we have done on Seashore over the years. I am feeling kind of sad and nostalgic that the campground has been sold--it is such a perfect place it is hard to imagine it getting better.
