Seattle RV Parks

If you're going to be further out, Pioneer Trails near Anacortes is very nice with all amenities, but it would be about a 2hr drive to Seattle.

Eh, it's a residential area, actually my residential area and you are wrong.

We've stayed at Lake Pleasant multiple times when we needed a base camp near Seattle. It has always been quiet and nice, seems like mostly snow bird and full timer types, not many overnight stays. It's very clean and well kept. I can get to the Seattle Center area in 20 minutes from there. We'll definitely use it again the next time we are staying in Seattle. It is however, not west of Seattle nor near the water.

I know it is a bit farther out, but it is on the water: Fidalgo Bay Resort in Anacortes. We would not recommend Illahee State Park. Disreputable types in the surrounding area. You might also consider Manchester State Park. It is near the Southworth ferry in Port Orchard. The state parks do limit stays, so you would need reservations and move periodically.

We have kids in downtown Seattle. Not near the water, but Tall Chief in Fall City works for us. Lake Pleasant is nice but traffic can be brutal, you need to pick your travel times. KOA expensive and crowded. Dash Point too far and some shady characters hang out there at times. Trailer Inn is close to town, a bit tight and parking lot type conditions.
Pick'ns for RV parks are not great but land in a big city is expensive.

My suggestion would be KOA in Kent. About 1/2 hour south of Seattle. Easy access to I-5 or even Metro bus to Seattle. You did not say what time of year you will be visiting.

Suggestion is to use King County Fair Grounds in Enumclaw WA it is about Hour to Seattle but a very nice campground and only 25.00 per night. It is also great to see Mount Rainer and other sites in the area. The town has some great places to eat and stores in Down town area.

Lake Pleasant isn't too far and is mentioned by others (I live near it, but have never stayed). You have to get a littler further out to find decent parks.

Unless they consider renting a barge, putting the RV on the barge, anchoring out in the harbour, which is west of Seattle of course.

Everything else will be north, south or east of downtown without using something that floats or a very long drive.:)

I would vote for Lake Pleasant. We used to go to Dash Point quite often but the other campers are often the dregs of life. The last two times we've been stuck next to dopers.
