One excellent reference for state park (and other state-run) campgrounds in New York is the Camp ADK NY State Campground Photos site, which is unofficial but quite helpful. It does not cover every NY state park. (Note that the star ratings are "lakeside camping ratings" and not overall campground ratings; a one-star campground may be a very nice park and campground, just not on a lake.)
