Sequoia National Park?
We've never been there... Mostly first come fist serve public camping sounds pretty darn good for this time of year. Anyone have a favorite campground in the area you want to share?

Azalea Campground at Kings Canyon often has vacancies, especially midweek. Don't know when Dorst and Lodgepole open -- both are great. The campgrounds at Cedar Grove are probably open -- kind of a long twisty drive, but wonderful hiking.

By the way, don't try to drive up to the park on 198 -- too narrow. 180 is a breeze by comparison.
