Our number one choice in the area is ELKMONT Camp inside the Natl Park. No hook- ups but has local Rest Room buildings with water available. We really like this style of camping... Shade in this area is really good - Just look it up on SAT VIEW haha. Maybe can see one small stretch of campground roads.
Sometimes we do stay at RIVEREDGE RV PARK just as you enter Pigeon Forge coming from Gatlinburg... Lots of shade, full hookups, really nice folks that run the place and does have a trolley stop on site. This is very central to all of the things around the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas.
This is our PLAN B stop haha...
