To the OP:
Are you talking about museums (buildings) that have information about ships?
Are you asking about museums (buildings) that have information about ship WRECKS?
Or are you asking about actual ships that have been turned into museums?
If the latter, the U-505 German submarine at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry is pretty cool to go through, and they also have a film about how the sub was taken and how it was delivered up to the museum.
And if you are into Lakers and their like, the Duluth area has three that you can tour and go inside of: The iron ore (taconite) carrier William A. Irvin (US Steel's flagship carrier that they used to impress clients) in Duluth harbor. The SS Meteor whaleback bulk carrier across the harbor in Superior, WI. and the Edna G. Tugboat that used to push these big boys around while in harbor is located up the road 30 miles in Two Harbors, MN.
