Ship museums in Great Lakes area?
Which are "best."? Has anyone been to the one in N Chicago? Is it enough better to make it worth going into Chicago? Thanks!

Surprised nobody has mentioned Toledo & the Great Lakes museum there. Great Lakes Museum on Trip Advisor
I spent half a day there but could have done a full day easy. The only disappointment was that the Lakers engine room was closed for painting.
If near Chicago again I might just brave the traffic & go see the U 505 museum. Since Bermuda is my home the U-505 has a connection to me as this is where it was towed & spent the remainder of the war after capture, anchored out hidden in plain sight. Its crew were interned at a rather nice estate not 5 minutes from where I live.
