Should we drive from Lansing, Mich., to Tucson, Arizona?

We're trying to decide whether to drive our oldest to the University of Arizona in August. Anyone do this route (or similar) before? Google maps says 28 hours; Mapquest says 30 hours. Either way, t...

Went to St. Louis, I-44 to OKC, I-40 to Albuquerque, I-25 to Las Cruse, then I-10 to Tucson. Was working there and the trip was great following part of Rte 66. Stop in Albuquerque and see Old Town and also the memorial in OKC, cadillac ranch in Amarillo.
