RV Resorts Central Arizona Between Phoenix & Tucson

Well here in Casa Grande, almost directly in the middle of Phoenix & Tucson is Palm Creek Check here, Sunscape Rv Resort, nice and a lot less expensive than PC and about 8 miles out of town Sunscapeand Casa Grande RV Resort, was the Western Horizon park,this is on the northern edge of Casa Grande RV Resortall of these would pretty much fit for doing the things your hoping to do out here.

Between Phoenix and Tucson you ask.

Stacey knows the area better than anyone I think as he has been there nearly dead center between the two for a long time.

I know it fairly well and can say there are a few spots in Casa Grande (again, check Stacey) and a couple south around Picacho / Eloy. We stayed a Picacho Peak years ago so my input would not be current - and have no experience on the others. Check RVParkReviews.

Can recommend here in Tucson. Even Yuma if you would like; great resort park in Yuma and you can do all the things you want (they even have two salt water poos and 2 salt water hot tubs).

There really is not a resort offering everything you'd want between Phoenix and Tucson. It's flat land inbetween and Casa Grande is the only major city. Casa Grande gets a lot of dust storms because it's farming country - cotton.

Since you want hiking, 4-wheeling, geocaching, flowers, etc. I would recommend that you stay in either the Phoenix metro area - as far east as Gold Canyon or in the Tucson area. Both will give you abundant opportunities for the activities you want to do. You might also look into Amado south of Tucson or in the Benson area which will be much cooler than Tucson but has some wonderful hiking and 4-wheeling - and geocaching (we have two caches, one in the Santa Ritas and one in the Huachuca Mtns.)

As mentioned, Casa Grande has many. The only other one I know between Phoenix and Tucson is http://www.picachopeakrv.com It's closer to Tucson but certainly out in the desert. It would be a drive for groceries, etc. but it is a beautiful area--the best by far around these areas.

Many folks that spend the winters here in Casa Grande bring along the 4 wheeler type vehicles and some head off in those things and others trailer them to the various ranges around here to go off and explore. Since your able to travel, spend a week or so and see if it fits ya, if not move north, or east and try some other spots.

DeAnza Trails RV Resort south of Tucson is smaller, off the beaten path, and everything you've described! that you are looking for in a park. Something you might consider.

I didn't come across any "Resorts" like you are referring to, I believe.
In Red Rock there is a nice RV Park where there are several Snowbirds. Water is hard and there is a fast train across the Interstate. There is a State Park next door and a ostrich ranch down the road. Tucson is another 40 miles to downtown. Outlying areas with Wal Marts etc 30 miles. Downtown has some nice sections but the overbearing atmosphere, to this Southerner is not to my liking.
We found a good Greek restaurant, a good seafood restaurant, several Latin restaurants that were average to good and of course the typical chains.
You will see more Law Enforcement of Federal, State, Local and Military, in the area. There is a lot of Illegal Alien and Drug flow around Tucson to all points of the compass. You will see open advertising, on street corners for medical Certificates for Marijuana.
The old town is interesting with several little shops. Found many nice Native American pieces of contemporary pottery in Tucson and Casa Grande and any gun show etc. Tucson holds a big mineral and rock show, forgotten the month. Good Golf course. You want to explore its a fer piece to anywhere. Depends on you but I give it a 4 out of ten.

I am trying to figure out how to respond to "down home"'s, description of Tucson. I just cannot let it go by with all the distortions and non factual information.

We have lived 20 miles south of Tucson for over 10 years and spend a lot of time there.

I won't speak to the restaurants as everyone has their own opinion - we have many excellent, high priced ones and just as many wonderful ones of all kinds. In fact, we probably had dinner last night at the Greek one he mentioned.

But this is way out of line :

Unless he is in the illegal drug business I am not sure how he qualifies to state what he does. Or maybe is in the illegal human transport business so he is an authority on that. I don't know. Legal marijuana? I have yet to see a sign.

Law enforcement. He forgot Border Patrol; we wish we had more of that. But they do not patrol in Tucson anyway. Military - duh, we have a major military base in Tucson and one in nearby Sierra Vista....if you see them in Tucson they are there on their own time. (Make sure to thank them for their service!) Other than your normal Federal and State agencies we have no more than any other city - probably less. And he makes it sound like they patrol the area...this is absolutely NOT true.

Is Tucson free of the usual big city issues? Of course not! But it is so far down the scale it is unreal.

I suggest he go back "south" to his comfort zone where everything is, obviously, a 10 on his scale.

Sorry for the rant but hate to see such misinformation posted on this Forum.
