I see merit to both sides of the argument. But I’m unsure what you mean by a “premium” spot or what sort of cg’s you’re going to. I pull a 16’ TT and can get in about anywhere. But as a rule I avoid big sites that large rigs can get into, just seems a courtesy. And I avoid pull thrus like the plague and sites with HU’s unless I need to recharge my battery.
My thoughts are that the “premium “spots will likely be the smaller, less developed ones anyway. And I think, maybe wrongly, that the bigger sites will tend to be grouped together and I don’t want to camp in a mass of sheet metal. I did that once at Fishing Bridge in YS and don’t want to repeat it. A bigger issue to me would be some fool trying to tell me which site to camp in, that would go over like a lead balloon.
But I suspect you’re talking about commercial cg,s and I’m rarely ever in one, I boondock or use NF campgrounds myself. I suppose if I were forced to take an absolutist position I’d say that one should be able to choose any site they want and paid for. But if commercial, the owner wants to max out revenue and has the right to tell someone which site to take. The way around it is to avoid those types of campgrounds.
