Slab organization
Bad moon on the rise for slabbers. People that took over Salvation Mountain trying to organize Slab City community, form a charitable organizations and take slabs off state's hands. Not sure any good...

The Slabs..just the name starts the yelling. Some like, some hate. Most RV people talk about freedom and for sure, it is to be found at the Slabs. But then those same ones want a bunch of changes. And, no doubt, there are some thieves down there...now name me a city that has none. There is a laissez faire attitude for sure and one needs to be minding their own business. The Seal desert training compound is just over the hill tho, so it keeps things interesting.
Ever been to Burning Man? Not the same at all and yet, those that rant about that, also rant about The Slabs, having never been to either.
Having been and spent time...if you are a former military service person, you'll be in good company too. There are a bunch of Vets and they take their lifestyle very seriously. Very.
