Last time I actually stayed at the Slabs........1978

Used to go party out there, ride dirt bikes and water ski in the All American Canal---towed by pickup truck on access road

Oh yeah....FUN :S

It's a very ugly place nowadays. We stopped there one day about 15 years ago and it was tolerable although there was some trash around. Don't bother with it now.

It didn't used to be like that. It used to be interesting, not trashed.

I just don't see what the attraction is .... except for that snowmobile in the middle of the desert! Now, I see a REAL purpose for that!

Edit: I looked through these photos about 3 times. My first IMMEDIATE reaction was ... OMG! Are you kidding. All the hype about these 3 places over the years, and it's nothing but a trash heap.

The 3rd pass through the photos and then I began to see what the attraction is. Some go to the grand canyon to see the awe inspiring vista of nature. Some go into the bowels of the earth to experience the wonders of hidden sites in caves, marvelous, majestic, inspiring. And then, there are those who are equally inspired by the egocentricity of the that animal, know as "man!"
