I thought the RGV was cooler and had more wind than Arizona. There are many places in Arizona and many different levels of cost. Probably like most any other place. I live in southern NM so don't really need to go anywhere to have much better weather but we have a son and family in Tucson so have spent lots of time in various places in Arizona. Like it much better. Also have a daughter in San Antonio and just like Arizona in the winter better than anyplace else.
