We spent this past winter on the TX coast at Rockport. Had beautiful weather. I do think it's just like any other place. Sometimes it's a nice warm winter, other times it's cold and rainy. That's what we have found spending winters in AL, MS and TX. Flip a coin. We are going to try AZ this next winter.
Many are indicating that TX is windy, cold, rainy, cloudy. We did not find that to be true at the coast. We were in Rockport Nov - March. mid 70's or higher most days, sprinkled 2X and rained 2X. Weather there is not like many other areas of TX. It was sunny and dry most of the time. We did not experience much wind either, but we were not directly on the water.
